Hi,
Bill Jackson here. I’m a travel
and nature photographer who recently relocated to Raleigh, NC. Since I
moved, I have fallen in love with the local wildlife. Sally was kind
enough to allow me to post some photos as a guest on her blog.
This
photo of a red bellied woodpecker
was taken at Crabtree Lake County Park, in Raleigh. I found this bird
feeder there along with a picnic table where I could wait for the birds
to feed. I used a Panasonic Lumix GX-85, with telephoto zoom.
This
shot was a little difficult, as
the feeder was in deep shade, and I was shooting without a tripod.
Fortunately, this bird was a little more relaxed than the others I had
seen that day, and allowed me to capture several photos. Using burst
mode, I was able to catch the moment where the bird
was pulling out a seed from the feeder.
I
hope you enjoyed this
photo, and you have luck finding your own relaxed bird. I have many
other bird and wildlife photos, along with some shots from my many trips
around the world, over on my website
www.billjacksonimages.com.
