I had an excellent time leading a bird tour and a bird photography workshop class here in the Raleigh area.
On Saturday I met up with Sydney at the Prairie Ridge Ecostation so that we could check out the birds and so that I could give her a hand learning how to use her new camera.
We had a wonderful trip and saw a bunch of lovely birds!
I’m so happy that I was able to teach her some new things about photography and to be able to share in the joy in birding with Syd.
So cool!
Sunday morning was an absolute blast too as I met up with Tania and Shawna at Yates Mill Park to do some early spring birding. We talked about the different species that are found in the Tarheel state including the not-so good parenting habits of the White-throated Sparrows (white vs. tan morph: the tan ones are better suited for a “stable family life” lol!)
We wrapped up the trip at Mid Pines Rd. where I had the opportunity to show Tania a Bald Eagle flying overhead which totally made her day.
Days like these are why I love my job as a North Carolina bird watching guide so much!
Of course the birds are an important element but gosh, it’s just as much about the people that makes these outings so enjoyable for me as a guide.
I’m really looking forward to meeting all of my guests this spring and hope that each and every one of them have as good of time as I do.
Cheers to what’s out there for us to discover together in 2021!
